WHAT WE BELIEVE

Everything on this website and everything taught in the Faith & Science classes and the Creation Club conforms to the following core beliefs:

  • Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully human and fully God at the same time.  He came to earth as a baby, grew up, and was preaching the Kingdom of God and healing the sick.  He was then condemned to die a criminal's death on a cross (although He was without sin or fault).  He died; but three days later was resurrected from the dead. Forty days later, He ascended into heaven where He is sitting at the right hand of the Father and will someday return for His bride, the church.  1 John 5:201 Thessalonians 4:14

  • God is a triune divine being and the only true God.  He is spirit consisting of God the Father, Jesus Christ His Son, and the Holy Spirit - three persons but one God (the trinity).  Galatians 4:6

  • God has revealed Himself in two ways.  First and foremost, God reveals Himself through His Word, the Bible, which is inspired (God-breathed), authoritative, and without error.  The Bible is useful for for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17  Secondly, God reveals Himself to humans through what is called general revelation, which is through His creation.  Psalm 19:1

  • Jesus was the Creator of the heavens, earth, and everything that exists.  John 1:1-3Colossians 1:16

  • The entire creation of the heavens, earth, and everything that physically exists in the universe was created within six literal days (a rotation of the earth).  The Bible is clear in the use of the Hebrew word "Yom" combining it in Genesis 1 with the use of the phrase "morning and evening" and a number (i.e. fourth day), that the intention of the writer of the inspired scripture was to mean one literal day, not a long age, or indefinite period of time.  To ascribe any other interpretation than a normal day is to improperly apply hermeneutics and proper Biblical interpretation practices.  Genesis 1 teaches that God created the earth and the universe in six literal days and rested on the seventh day of Creation Week.

  • On Day 6 of the Creation Week, God made all the land-dwelling animals and the first two humans.  He created the first two humans (Adam and Eve) male and female and made them in His own image.  God blessed the first two humans and ordered them to "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”  Genesis 1:26-28;

  • Although, mankind was created perfect and without sin, mankind was also given a free will.  Adam and Eve willfully disobeyed God's instructions and thereby suffered the curses resultant of their actions, among which is physical death.  This curse applies to all sons and daughters of Adam and Eve.  All of mankind is under the same judgement and penalty of sin.  Romans 5:12

  • During the days of Noah, wickedness became so bad that God sent a global judgement on the earth to wipe out all of mankind and most of the animal kingdom.  Scripture teaches that it was a cataclysmic global flood that lasted for approximately one year.  The only survivors were Noah and his wife and his three sons and their wives along with animals that God had sent to him to be protected in an ark that God had instructed Noah to build.  Scripture teaches that this was not a local flood, but was effective in bringing judgement to everything that had the breath of life that was outside of the ark. Subsequent to being saved from the flood and exiting the ark on dry ground, God promised to never again destroy the earth with a flood. Genesis 6 - 8

  • Just as sin and death entered the world through one man (Adam), so salvation and life entered the world through one man (Jesus Christ). All are under the penalty of sin - death.  But, because of Jesus' sacrificial death, He paid the penalty for our sins. If we confess our sins and believe in Jesus, we will receive His free gift of forgiveness of sins and eternal life.  Romans 6:23; Romans 10:10

  • Without faith it is impossible to please God.  We start with faith and we build the rest of life, including science, on that foundation.  Faith not only intersects science, it intersects everything in life.  Hebrews 11:6
